The general purpose of doctoral study programme Tourism Management is development of science, critical opinion as well as the education of staff who are enabled to lead independently original and scientifically relevant research and new projects development. They are also enabled to evaluate the research of others, which, all together, contribute to the general society development. The main aim of this programme is based on the importance of the tourism for the future development of Serbia, as defined by Tourism Development Strategy, adopted by Serbian Government. It is also based on the need for highly educated staff enabled to carry out original and scientifically relevant research in order to accomplish the Strategy.

The aim of the doctoral study programme is also creating staff of the highest level of education who will be able to perform the following:
  • management of large business systems within the field of tourism and complimentary fields
  • managent of the Destination Management Organizations at the national and regional level
  • creation of contemporary working methods and management models
  • research and scientific activities within scientific institutes, colleges, faculties etc.
Doctoral study programme Tourism Management should provide students with scientific capabilities and academic skills, creativeness development and specific practical skills needed for successful career development in the field of management of great business systems within the field of tourism and complimentary fields as well as within scientific institutes, colleges, faculties etc.
  • through theoretical-methodological lectures acquire scientific abilities and academic skills which they could use in order to improve management systems in tourism
  • become familiar with the results of scientific-research projects and they broaden their knowledge in the field of Tourism Management

Upon completion of the doctoral study programme TOURISM MANAGEMENT students obtain knowledge, skills, developed capabilities and competencies in order to:
  • use contemporary knowledge in management and marketing within tourism field
  • independently solve theoretical and practical problems within the field of tourism management, as well as organize and achieve developmental and scientific research
  • participate in the international scientific projects
  • develop critical opinions and perform creative and independent activities
  • professionally communicate when reporting scientific-research results
  • contribute to the development of the scientific skill and science in general
  • use information and communication technologies in acquiring knowledge within the Tourism Management
