The purpose of doctoral study programme ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING AND COMPUTER SCIENCE is to develop new scientific methods for analysis, synthesis and application of contemporary information and communication (IC) technology and systems. Educating professionals in the field would form critical mass of scientists capable to create new scientific and technical solutions in software engineering, electronics, automatics, telecommunication and computer technology. The study programme has been regulated according to the appropriate European standards.

The doctoral study programme lasts for at least three school years. Students enrolled at the programme are required to pass four compulsory and three elective courses. Compulsory courses enable students to grasp methodological basics of scientific research and relevant mathematical tools, as well as to gain an insight into the field of contemporary IC technology. Elective courses enable students to opt for specific area of expertise in the field of interest The doctoral study programme emphasizes independent research work of the candidate verified through scientific-research projects finalized in the doctoral dissertation. Teachers conducting the courses are widely recognized in the scientific community.

 

Upon completion of the study programme ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING AND COMPUTER SCIENCE students should possess knowledge, skills and competencies to independently solve theoretical and practical problems within the field of analysis, synthesis and contemporary IC technology application, participate in international scientific projects within the field and contribute to development of new methods of analysis and synthesis of advanced energy efficient tools.
