The purpose of the doctoral study programme Advanced Security Systems is the development of new scientific methods of analysis and synthesis of cryptosystems and detection of intrusion into security mechanisms within contemporary computer systems, as well as the development of critical opinion concerning the existing systems, methods and solutions within the field.

The aim of the study programme is also education of staff who will be capable of treating the advanced cryptosystems problems using rigorous theoretical and mathematical tools based on the Shannon information theory, Kolmogorov complexity theory, as well as on the contemporary theories of distributed hypothesis testing within the field of contemporary computer networks.

One of the most important aims of this study programme is that students develop abilities to formulate advanced cryptosystems problems in the way which is recognizable within similar scientific fields, such as information theory, error coding theory, statistical decision theory, theory of complexity, descreet optimization and artificial intelligence. Critical scientific-methodological frame is being acquired in this way, and it is essential for solving extremely complex problems underlying analysis and synthesis of advanced cryptosystems.
Upon completion of the doctoral study programme Advanced Security Systems students obtain knowledge, skills, developed capabilities and competencies in order to
  • independently solve theoretical and practical problems within the field of analysis and synthesis of advanced cryptosystems.
  • participate in the international scientific projects
  • develop critical opinions and perform creative and independent activities
  • professionally communicate when reporting scientific-research results
  • contribute to the development of the scientific skill and science in general
  • develop new methods of analysis and synthesis of advanced cryptosystems and, according to the previosly adopted knowledge, they should be able to evaluate their security strength
  • behave in an ethical way
