Well-organized scientific-research work is of key importance for the successful realization of doctoral academic studies. Most of those research activities are carried out within the Institute for Business Research at Singidunum University and they involve active participation of the doctoral students.

One of the main objectives of the Institute is to advocate and incite professional development of professors, associates, students and experts from various scientific fields. That is mainly achieved through organizing scientific gatherings and expert seminars, establishing centres for further professional development and through promoting international cooperation with other universities. Your Possibilities

DEPARTMENT OF POSTGRADUATE STUDIES AND INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION

The doctoral study programmes last for 3 years (180 ECTS) and are carried out in accordance with the Bologna Declaration. These programmes are intended for students who have earned Master’s degree (300 ECTS) or collected 300 ECTS during their five-year undergraduate studies with the average mark above 8.00. In addition, students are expected to have considerable knowledge of foreign languages, especially English.



During the course of studies, students of the doctoral programmes realize one scientific research project, and in order to pass their exams, they have to write research papers. Modern methods in teaching and mentoring system offer students the possibility to obtain considerable knowledge and skills that could be useful not only for the completion of the doctoral thesis but also for their business environment.

The main aim of Singidunum University is to maintain the highest standards and international reputation, founded upon essential values necessary for providing educational and professional services. Doctoral study programme Contemporary Business Decision Making in Banking and Finance or in Accounting and Auditing should provide students with scientific abilities and academic skills. The general purpose of doctoral study programme Tourism Management is development of science, critical opinion as well as the education of staff who are enabled to lead independently original and scientifically relevant research and new projects development. The main aim of this programme is based on the importance of the tourism for the future development of Serbia, as defined by Tourism Development Strategy, adopted by Serbian Government. It is also based on the need for highly educated staff enabled to carry out original and scientifically relevant research in order to accomplish the Strategy.

The aim of the doctoral study programme is also creating staff of the highest level of education who will be able to perform the following:
  • management of large business systems within the field of tourism and complimentary fields
  • managent of the Destination Management Organizations at the national and regional level
  • creation of contemporary working methods and management models
  • research and scientific activities within scientific institutes, colleges, faculties etc.

The purpose of the doctoral study programme Advanced Security Systems is the development of new scientific methods of analysis and synthesis of cryptosystems and detection of intrusion into security mechanisms within contemporary computer systems, as well as the development of critical opinion concerning the existing systems, methods and solutions within the field.

The aim of the study programme is also education of staff who will be capable of treating the advanced cryptosystems problems using rigorous theoretical and mathematical tools based on the Shannon information theory, Kolmogorov complexity theory, as well as on the contemporary theories of distributed hypothesis testing within the field of contemporary computer networks.

One of the most important aims of this study programme is that students develop abilities to formulate advanced cryptosystems problems in the way which is recognizable within similar scientific fields, such as information theory, error coding theory, statistical decision theory, theory of complexity, descreet optimization and artificial intelligence. Critical scientific-methodological frame is being acquired in this way, and it is essential for solving extremely complex problems underlying analysis and synthesis of advanced cryptosystems.

The purpose of doctoral study programme ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING AND COMPUTER SCIENCE is to develop new scientific methods for analysis, synthesis and application of contemporary information and communication (IC) technology and systems. Educating professionals in the field would form critical mass of scientists capable to create new scientific and technical solutions in software engineering, electronics, automatics, telecommunication and computer technology. The study programme has been regulated according to the appropriate European standards.

The doctoral study programme lasts for at least three school years. Students enrolled at the programme are required to pass four compulsory and three elective courses. Compulsory courses enable students to grasp methodological basics of scientific research and relevant mathematical tools, as well as to gain an insight into the field of contemporary IC technology. Elective courses enable students to opt for specific area of expertise in the field of interest The doctoral study programme emphasizes independent research work of the candidate verified through scientific-research projects finalized in the doctoral dissertation. Teachers conducting the courses are widely recognized in the scientific community.

 

Upon completion of the study programme ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING AND COMPUTER SCIENCE students should possess knowledge, skills and competencies to independently solve theoretical and practical problems within the field of analysis, synthesis and contemporary IC technology application, participate in international scientific projects within the field and contribute to development of new methods of analysis and synthesis of advanced energy efficient tools.
